  • Mandolin or knife
  • Cutting board
  • Large bowl
  • Aluminum foil

Ingredients

  • 4 russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 Tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped fine or 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • Dash of cayenne pepper

  • 1 Tablespoon sesame seeds plus more for garnish
  • Cilantro for garnish

Directions

  1. Earlier in the day or the day before: Wash potatoes. Slice potatoes very thin using a mandolin
  2. In a large bowl, combine sesame oil, soy sauce, lime juice, garlic and a dash of cayenne. Add thinly sliced potatoes and toss to coat. Marinate for 30 minutes
  3. When ready to start grill: Place on large piece of aluminum foil and sprinkle with ginger, about 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, and, if you like spicy, add another dash of cayenne. Seal foil
  4. Place over high heat on grill for 20 minutes. Open carefully to avoid being burned by steam. Place in serving bowl and sprinkle with sesame seeds
