ADOPTED HYDROFLUOROCARBONS AND OTHER FLUORINATED GREENHOUSE GASES RULE GUIDEBOOK IS AVAILABLE NOW

The new guidebook will give important information regarding the adopted rule. The book will provide overall information about Chapter 173-443 WAC Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and Other Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases rule and if it will affect you. However, this book is not considered comprehensive guidance.  When questions arise, participants are responsible for reviewing exact rule language to finish compliance instructions. The Department of Ecology will be hosting a couple of informal webinars. These webinars will be split into two parts, they will each be covering different parts of the rule. This gives people a chance to ask questions and get an overall view of the new rule. You can register now, the first part will be on January 9^th, 2024, from 10:00am to 11:30am PDT. Part two will be on January 11^th, 2024, 10:00am to 11:30am PDT.

There will also be office hours for participants of the program to be able to ask questions. These will be drop-in office hours. Office hours are as follows:

 January 17^th, 2024, 10am to 11am PDT

January 25^th, 2024, 2pm to 3pm PDT

January 31^st, 2024, 11am to 12pm PDT

As of November 20^th, 2023, the rule has been adopted, this is to establish a refrigerant management program to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This isn’t only affecting growers, even ice rinks will be affected due to the large refrigeration units needed. There is more information on the Department of Ecology website.
